Downtown Rochester's Transformation & Where to Find the Latest Updates

If you’re visiting downtown Rochester, Minnesota, you might notice that big changes are getting underway. They’re part of Mayo Clinic’s Bold. Forward. Unbound initiative. This multiyear, $5 billion project is reimagining the downtown Rochester campus with five new buildings, related infrastructure and utilities. According to Mayo Clinic, the new buildings will have “a combination of innovative care concepts and digital technologies that will give Mayo Clinic the ability to scale transformation in ways never before imagined.”

The goal is to open some facilities as early as 2028, with the project expected to be completed by 2030.

Mayo Clinic announced the initiative in 2023, and as construction becomes more visible in fall of 2024, there is a new source of information for visitors and residents coming to downtown Rochester.

Where to find construction updates

The website allows users to select the site of their first Mayo Clinic appointment, and then receive information on where to park or drop off patients as well as the availability of valet services. The site also provides updates on road closures and recommended travel routes.
