Sound Unseen is a Film Festival with a focus on music related films and events, the festival has run for 25 years in Minneapolis and makes it's return to Rochester from Dec 5-8th at Pop's Art Theater.

Films in Sound Unseen’s Rochester screenings this year include Spider John Koerner's film The Secret of Sleep which will featurea post-film performance by Mike Munson before the opening night party at Treedome with Scrunchies + Rad Owl + Black Widows. The fest features Dana Flor’s 1-800-On-Her-Own, about the brutally honest, famously foul-mouthed Ani DiFranco; Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted, about the legendary cult musician who has quietly influenced every corner of music; This is a Film About the Black Keys; Twin/Tone Records’ 7 Nights In The Entry (2007), a film that was shown once before, and likely won’t be seen for another 20 years capturing bands like the Replacements and Hüsker Dü in their beginnings—plus Greg Norton of Hüsker Dü will be in attendance for a Q&A. Plus very special screenings of Robert Wiene’s classic German Expressionist film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) will also be shown accompanied by a live music performance of the film’s score. A closing night party for the event will take place at Thesis Beer Project with Molly Brandt + James Eugene Russell + Garden Tigers.
