Presentation by Dr. Dean and Dr. Ayesha Sherzai – Lifestyle Medicine for Lifelong Brain Health
Dr. Dean and Dr. Ayesha Sherzai are renowned neurologists, researchers, and co-founders of the Healthy Minds Initiative. Their recorded presentation provides an in-depth, evidence-based exploration of how lifestyle shapes lifelong brain health. Drawing from cutting-edge neuroscience and decades of clinical experience, they will explain how nutrition, movement, sleep, stress resilience, social connection, and mental engagement work together to prevent cognitive decline and reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Their session will highlight the role of insulin resistance in brain aging, the unique brain health challenges faced by women, and the practical lifestyle strategies communities can adopt to protect cognitive function. Participants will leave with actionable tools and renewed motivation to integrate brain-friendly habits into daily life.

Breathing and Brain Health – Seokmun Hoheup Method
This immersive session introduces the Seokmun Hoheup method, a traditional Korean breathing practice designed to enhance mental clarity, reduce stress, and support healthy brain function, presented by Paul Min, PhD. Attendees will learn how mindful breathwork influences the autonomic nervous system, improves circulation to the brain, and counteracts the cognitive impacts of chronic stress, which is one of the most significant contributors to memory decline. Through guided practice, participants will experience techniques that promote relaxation, emotional balance, and improved focus. This session emphasizes how breathing can serve as a powerful, accessible tool for brain wellness in everyday life.

This is a free event and open to the public, please RSVP.
