About the High 48s:
Since forming in northeast Minneapolis in 2006, The High 48s have been making music that combines the soulful sound of classic bluegrass with a modern attitude.
They’re a band with one foot in tradition and the other in the world of music today, and one of the few who can find an overlooked bluegrass classic in a song by M. Ward or the Clash then throw down hard on a standard by Bill Monroe.
About Becky Shlegel:
Becky Schlegel is an award-winning songwriter who combines classic country, contemporary folk and bluegrass influences to craft a modern Americana sound that is uniquely her own.
After a stint as a Nashville songwriter, collaborating with legends the likes of Harley Allen, Becky Schlegel returned to home to the Midwest. Since then she’s been a regular on RFD-TV’s “Midwest Country” and A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor, earning a loyal following among fans of both modern bluegrass and classic country.
Funding provided by the State of Minnesota’s Legacy Amendment, through the vote of Minnesotans on Nov. 4, 2008.
